My goal for the garden this year is “Less Space, More Salad”: Test what can grow in a container veg garden on my balcony, including not only salad greens, but also peas, beans, strawberries, herbs, and flowers.

I’ll also be growing things to eat in a couple plots across town, but I know in advance that I won’t be able to devote much time to it or even get to it reliably. I just can’t stand to let the soil I worked on so diligently last year go to utter waste.
