The Red Bull Air Race is finished, so I took out the stakes and removed the pink surveyors ribbon. We have had our first week of temperatures getting above 30 deg C for a couple of days in a row. Consequently, the plants are starting to look a little dry. I’m tempted to water them, but it i...

    auto-run Front Verandah garden
After fixing the drippers for the hanging baskets and testing the one watering circuit, I forgot to move the irrigation controller dial back to auto-run :( We have been away for eight days. Consequently, the baskets of pansies, nasturtiums, Gotu Kola, and marjoram have dried out. The pansies and...

Pulled the first radishes today. All four of them. More were available, but I decided to hurry inside the house with my treasures. Promptly washed off the dirt and ate them :) Yum. From tomorrow, I’ll be able to start including radish in our meals.

    pruned Rose garden
This year I finished pruning took a couple of days, but I finished on 13 July 2007. One of the tools that I found useful was a pruning saw as it meant I could finish the task all by myself. Also, it did mean that branches that I let go the previous year, were pruned with the saw this year.
