The Honeysuckle is being warmed by the morning sun and the scent is wafting into the house. You can smell the Honeysuckle all day, but it is strongest in the morning.

The Ginger pot contains two sprouts. One of them is at the edge of the pot, which means the root has grown and travelled some way.

Since I put the Azolla in the buried toilet cistern, the Gotu Kola has run rampant through the Rhubard Patch and filled the toilet cistern.
There is only so much Gotu Kola we can use, so this will have to be pulled out. Hopefuly, the Azolla will recover.

It’s that time of year. The Everlasting are finished, and ready to be collected up and stored for another year.
Just waiting until they dry a little so they don’t go mouldy.

I let my Cos Lettuce flower as I was told that beneficial insects were attracted to the flowers. Whether they were or not I don’t know, but the flowers are pretty.
Not sure whether I will collect the seed as it is as light as dandelion and it is already blowing around.

The Chilli Plant is in its 4th or 5th year, so I don’t really expect much of it.
Also, the Spider Plants are getting a little crowded and I’m not sure they are helping the Chilli Plant be fruitful.

I learnt in my Permaculture Design course that Azolla is a good green fertiliser.
The leaves of the Catmint are very large and lush since I tipped out the Azolla plants out of the birdbath.

I’m not usually keen on Silverbeet, in that I’ll eat it as a last resort. But harvesting the Silverbeet in the last few weeks has demonstrated that I do like Silverbeet. The plants are keeping up – just.

I will probably start harvesting these soon. Once they get to about the thickness of my thumb they are nice in about anything that requires a bit of shallot or onion. Besides, there are over a 100 in the gardens somewhere.
