It has been badly broken and recovered several times, most recently at the beginning of the month when almost all the live growth was broken off. It had started to put out a bit more new growth and I thought I’d let it grow a bit before pu...Cloudy 30°C / 86°F

28 Jun 2008Figured out the problem... but I have to start over Squash 'Early White Bush Scallop' Dying and Vegetable gardenAll of a sudden my patty pan squash plants have been dying off. At first I figured some of the weak ones might be dying due to too many plants in the pot and pulled them up, but then the stronger, bigger ones started dying too. 28 Jun 2008first harvest today! 1 Bean 'Bush Blue Lake 274' Harvesting and Vegetable gardenSunny 28°C / 82°F
I harvested the beans growing on the plant that is in its own pot. I got about 10 beans off that plant. I think the plant is now done, but I’ll let it grow on and see if it sets any more flowers. The beans went into the stir fry noodle bowls we had tonight, along with some of the eggplant.

‘Penny Mac’s one bloom (so far… I’ll hope for more) is starting to color up. I’m really happy that the bloom is going to be blue, as this is a potted hydrangea. It did bloom blue last year, which tells me that it had been treated with aluminum sulfate. I’ve ...

Bloodgood seems happier back where I moved it by the azaleas in part shade. I think it might have been in too much sun before as its leaves were getting burned. I saw today that it was putting out some new growth and managed to get a decent photo.

I had another one of the crazy partially shredded blooms open yesterday (photo 2) and also a different plant bloomed as well. The second plant is a double (photo 1)! I figured these plants would just be plain old boring orange daylilies and instead I’ve got all sorts of crazy things! I...

Nice photo, taken by my mom, of one of Unloosed blooms for the day. It is still going strong and looking great. Tall, lots of flowers, evergreen in this climate, what is not to like!
