What I thought was watermelon was actually cantaloupe.
I pulled up one of the zucchini plants today because it had broken off and was rotting. The other seems to be ok. I also pulled up the summer squash plants. I think next year I’ll only plant one zucchini plant. I am so tired of zucchini...

I had just assumed this was a volunteer cucumber plant, because it looked just like my other cucumber plants, but then it started forming these fuzzy little oblong globes. awesome!

At least a couple of the volunteer plants are definitely butternut squash. I think there’s a cucumber plant in there too. Also, some volunteer tomato plants came up, but I might take them out since I have so many tomatoes already.

Finally finished digging up the garden, added loads of compost, and planted beets, cucumbers, summer squash, and zucchini. I was finally able to get the tomatoes and peppers out of their tiny cups. I know they’ll be happier now.
The chives are starting to blossom. Pretty!
