I am incredibly bad at keeping house plants happy, but outside gardens are another story, as long as I have nature to help with the watering! I find it calming to work the soil and pull weeds, and since I work from home I find myself taking breaks to go wander outside and do just that.

I was never very interested in my parents’ yearly vegetable and herb garden, and I think I took the fresh tomatoes, beans, herbs (etc) for granted. Now that I’m on my own and concerned about where my food is coming from (and how much it costs), I can’t imagine not trying to grow some of the food we eat. I wish I could grow more!
