gim stands for Gardening in Mississauga, which is also the blog I’ve been adding to lately. I’ve found great inspiration from forums and enjoy the photos people put up of their own gardening efforts, like seeing the range of horticulture all over the world and surely this place has a lot to offer. I was quite impressed by the plant identification section. My first gardening memories included tending a clover patch when I was about 3 or 4. Now, I have a few acres to play in and enjoy the satisfaction of learning how to grow something new from seed, propagation from cuttings, but mostly, I’ve spent a small fortune picking up any plant which I don’t have. There’s been several losses as some things just don’t make it from the garden centre. That’s why I’m so interested in getting things going from heritage seeds, from scratch. This year’s project will be building a polytunnel, introducing new varieties into the woodland garden and labouring over more wild plants.
