I grow flowers of all kinds(perennials/annuals) especially Delphinium elatum, primula, zinnia elatum, asters, +,
Propagating on average about 100 species of plants from seed, cuttings and now I’m just learning micropropagation techniques.
I am interested in hybridizing and hand pollination techniquesand if anyone wants to swap seeds I have quite a list of available fresh (2009) seed to swap.
By training I am a musician and a composer of music and have been, longer than I have grown flowers, which is a long time.
When I think of my flower garden, at this time of year, in its dormant state,I create a kind of symphony which I hear in my mind as I am composing the framework of the garden. Since I love flowers of all kinds, I use these as the sonorities I have to work with including thier colour, shape, form, mass.
Music is always performed in real time, ( it starts – it’s over), the garden on the other hand is a very intricate series of sequences performed eternally in the present moment, which gives it a great range to it’s seasonal expression. Every year its new, and exciting to behold, as it unfolds.
