Hi, I’m Jeff. I’m a plant nerd.
Big time.
It’s unstoppable!
It’s in my blood… =)
My family has a very long history of agriculture and farming… to the early 1600s in what is now Virginia south to Florida, and centuries prior throughout Europe.
I’m the caretaker (et al) of Nehrling Gardens, the six-acre National Register of Historic Places listed property that was once the home of famed horticulturist Dr Henry Nehrling. I spend my days wandering the same paths as Theodore Mead, David Fairchild, Thomas Edison and Liberty Hyde Bailey once did. =)
I co-own a business offering garden education, design, installation and maintenance services and a small nursery. I have three research projects underway at the Susan O. and Frederick A. Hauck Botanical Research Center at Rollins College. I’m also involved with the Florida School of Holistic Living, Homegrown Local Food Co-Op, and Lockhart Acres Farm.
