Been in the medical field for years, never had the chance to grow something. I’m a decendent of great farmers back home in the Philippines….but never had a chance to use a plow, ’cause my loving mom wants us to finish school. When I got married and had to stay home to take care of my active little toddler, I found gardening as a way to reduce stress, and its relaxing.
Coming from a tropical country, with only two seasons, it was a really big challenge for me, and exciting at the same time. trying to learn planting habits of plants i never had the chance to grow back home.
I’m also a practical gardener, I plant stuff that I need in the kitchen most of the time. So by the time fall comes I have a big bag of frozen Big boy tomatoes for stews, that would last me ’till end of spring :)
But this season I tried to add color to my garden, have grown Hydrangeas, roses, geraniums and bougainvillas from cuttings which I got from my landlord.
