I love being outdoors. I would live in a yurt if I could ! I love cooking and trying to tweak my little postage stamp city lot. We are just renting but after a 5 month battle with English Ivy that was impregnated with hidden Poison Ivy we won ! We are doing an edible border on the front slope of the yard. It receives massive sun. It seems to have 40 sq. ft. of tropical micro climate. One day in late winter I had to go back inside and put on shorts, crazy on a 42f degree day. Its helped me to rekindle a love of gardening I was not able to achieve for the past 10 years. I worked in property management for the last 12 years so I had an apartment. I always rescued abandoned plants. Various moves over the years I had to give my plants away to friends. This all changed when we moved back to Raleigh in July 2011. I was raised in eastern NC. I try to keep it NON GMO open pollinated plants. My passion is Sustainability and learning more about diverse edible plants. Its very rewarding having my hands in the soil. I love being able to eat from the yard on a daily basis.
