planted the seeds oriole swiss chard Sown and first year farm garden
I planted the seeds that I got on swap. There were 6 seeds in the bag and we’ll see how many come up. I planted them in the 4th row, closest to the road. (finished the row with beets).

The cantaloupes are ripening. I am just not sure when to pick them to know if they are ripe or not.

I have heard to wait until to pick the cantaloupe until it falls off the vine when you touch it. My first two have started splitting all around the outer shell so I picked it off the vine. It was perfectly ripe when I ate it, but I’d like to get them before the splitting stage. How do I k...

I got my first cantaloupe today!!! It was wonderfully sweet and perfect. Of course, I’ve saved the seeds for next year.
