    Lots of Fruity Business!

Just walked around the outside. There are tons of peaches on the Red Haven and Elberta. They are young trees and I’m going to have to thin the fruit or the limbs will break. Both pear trees have pears. All three apple trees are packed. Nothing yet on the fig tree. Strangely, one plum tree h...

    Germination

    Basil. Mix Germinating
So, I usually don’t get to see this part of seed sowing. It usually happens under a bit of soil and I don’t see any evidence of growth until it breaks ground. Within hours of putting basil seeds in the wool blocks of the hydro bucket, the seeds turned gelatinous and looked like fish e...

    More Tomatoes In!

Tomato, Yellow Pear , Tomato, Powers Heirloom , and Tomato, Federle
I had potted up all the tomatoes that would fit on my counter and allowed them to grow big enough for the outside. Three 6-packs didn’t make the cut. However, they seem to want to live. I’ve gone ahead and potted them up to plant them outside in a few weeks. This batch includes: 6 fed...

    Yellow White and Purple

    Dutch Iris Mix Blooming
Irises are definitely in full show right now. Last year, I had no yellow ones at all. Now about 1/3 are yellow. Strange. I guess the yellow ones were just dormant last year. I haven’t seen any of the really pale, almost blue ones this year.

Signs of The Matrix in my Garden

    Columbine Budding
Very excited to finally have buds on the columbine that I grew from seed. I tried so many times to get a sprout. So cool to finally reach this point. I had to take a photo though. They remind me of the Sentinels from The Matrix right now.

    Morning Glories Outta Here!

Morning Glory, Milky Way Planting Out and Morning Glory, Grandpa Ott Planting Out
I ran outside and put the morning glories in the ground real quick. I didn’t harden them off. I’m so bad. They look pitiful. But, morning glories are pretty hardy. I’ll bet they snap right back. It’s a shame that their mommy has to be so mean to them. I noticed that some o...
