Patio progress 1 South Patio garden
This past weekend, I put down weed block on the ground for my patio. I have added about a ton of new gravel and tamped to first layer. The patio is starting to take shape, and I love how it is looking with the plantings nearby. I hope to be finished with the building of the patio by the end of...

    Lily of the Valley Bloomed
The Lily of the Valley is much happier in it’s new location this. With the extra rain and shade it bloomed profusely and smelled heavenly this spring. I can’t wait to see it next year!

    Spring Assessments East garden
The East garden is looking pretty good at this time. The French Pink pussy willow survived it’s transplanting last fall and had the decency to bloom a couple weeks ago. The Altheas are looking like they will make it. The new lawn looks amazing and already needs to be mowed. I am expecti...

Sown Icicle Pansies Sown and South Patio garden
I am trying a flat of golden icicle pansies. Supposedly these will bloom until after a hard frost and spring back to bloom again next spring. This would make them almost perennial. I thought it was worth a try.

    Grass East garden
I am thrilled to announce that our seeding a new lawn has been fairly successful! We have a lot of new grass. It’s been mowed twice and I reseeded the bare spots this past weekend. All is going well.

New plants and transplants West Shade garden
This garden got two new redbud trees this March. Thanks to the Boone County Garden Fest giving out free bareroot trees and my friend Bushi7, who gave me hers since she has way too many trees at her house. Thank you, thank you. Both trees are doing very well. In a corner of this garden I transp...

    New lawn East garden
The east garden is almost a blank slate since we had some foundation work done on the house. Pretty much the entire garden area has been regraded with a lot of clay soil exposed. So Aug. 31st, my husband and I fertilized, seeded and started watering in hopes that a beautiful new lawn will emerge...

Early summer progress 1 Veggie garden
I am proud to say that we have had a fantastic crop of squash (straightneck early yellow), zucchini (dark green), cucumbers(national pickling), pole beans(Kentucky wonder and garden romano), roma tomatoes, spinach mustard (tendergreen). The last two or three years all but the tomatoes failed and ...
