    Pests on the Lemon Tree

Meyer's Lemon Tree 'Improved, dwarf' Under Attack
I’ve noticed something is eating the lemon tree leaves. I’ve not looked at the tree most of winter, so it may not be recent. I have free roaming chickens, but I’m sure they don’t peck lemon tree leaves. Any ideas what it could be? What are common pests that attack lemon t...

    Potato preparation

    Nicola Potato Tubers
I’m about a week late in getting my potatoes in, but now that the yard is not water logged, it’s almost time. I’ve got 8 seed potatoes, but there are for or more eyes on each, and some already sprouting. Therefor I’ve cut them in half, two eyes per piece, and left them to ...

    Photos need fixing

I was using iPhoto to sync all my garden photos to flickr, but for some reason iPhoto “resyncs” and the photo changes on flickr – then the pic is lost here on myfolia. I’m going to drop using iPhoto to Flickr sync, and upload them manually.

    Pumpkin Pollination

Heirloom Pumpkins Pollinating and Vegetable Bed 1 garden
As it has cooled off, and the rain stopped – I thought it was time to pollinate the Pumpkins. There are about 5 females that the flowers have died off, and they were obviously not pollinated. So following instructions from the Pumpkin Nook I did the deed. Now there are about 6 females polli...

Harvested the first batch of peas today, and cooked them for Dinner. Got 1.15 kg, with 475grams after shelling. They tasted great. The borlotti beans still need a week or two to fill out,and the climbing beans are flowering and showing initial fruit. The Dwarf Snow Peas I left too long, but we go...

    Third Year - still eating

Rosemary Consumed and Potted area garden
This rosemary in a pot keeps coming back. At one time it was my only rosemary for cooking, so it got hammered. No longer. We have about 5 other large bushes in actual beds instead of pots. This one still seems to be my favourite. Probably because it has been providing for so long.
