We are John & Maureen Glen, both 57 years old and have been married for 37 years; we have lived, worked and kept each other company for most of that time. For over 10 years we worked for Lord and Lady Hanson here in the UK at Their town house in London and country cottage in Berkshire and in Palm Springs, California I was Chef & Butler and Maureen was Senior Housekeeper.
I suppose you could say that I can cook a little and know something about wines, etiquette, Butler’s & Chef’s tips and tricks. Moreover, Maureen knows just as much (If Not more!).

We have just started to grow a few things on our little balcony; cut and come again salad leaves, rocket, radish, tomatoes, we do want to try other things that we can grow and eat but we are restricted for space, however we will not let that stop us from trying, you can see our balcony photos and we would appreciate any tips you have.

Why ?Astrochef? and ?Lancashire Molly?? Well my name at school gave me the nickname Astro and being a chef I just put the two together as for Lancashire Molly well Molly became a personal name for Maureen and she comes from Lancashire and I used to joke about Maureen and her sisters (all five of them) as being the Lancashire Witches, consequently she became ?Lancashire Molly?!!

Our garden is situated on the balcony of our flat here in Pimlico, London we are on the 17th floor and overlook the river facing south directly across the river is the MI6 building, our balcony measures 3.048 meters in length and is 1.07 meters in depth. We manage to grow our own salads, radish, tomatoes and rocket, now into our second year we have already had a nice amount of rocket and look forward to getting any tips that might help us do more.
