We bought our house in September 2007 in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, although it wasn’t until late last year when I found the time to get stuck into the garden.

I have been into gardening for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid living in Tasmania I used to collect Iris’, from memory at last count I had hundreds of bearded hybrids and around 30 species. I don’t have them anymore now as I moved states…

Now I am not so one eyed, and I grow a lot of different things. Thinking about what I like, it tends to be herbaceous perennials which I gravitate towards.

I live with my husband, who isn’t a gardener, and my daughter who loves digging and searching for worms and planting in her fairy garden.

I wouldn’t say I was an organic gardener. I have a small spray bottle of pyrethrum in the shed in case of an aphid attack on a plant which I really don’t want to lose, but generally I don’t like spraying chemicals around.

Oh and I am currently doing a science degree part time with the hope of getting in to plant sciences.

I try and take photos – http://bucketfullofphotos.wordpress.com/
And this is where I started keeping track of the garden before I found Folia – http://gumboots.ucoz.net/publ
