Although I have 40 years of gardening experience, I’m not consistent enough to be very successful. I grew up with gardens, because my father loved vegetable gardening, especially since he had lots of kids to do the grunt work. He loved to try new things – including okra when we lived in Florida and kohlrabi after we moved to Washington state.
I prefer flower gardens, and I’m not very good at it, so I’ve got just a few containers of daylilies, a bed of lavender and a raised flower bed across the front of the house that usually houses geraniums. I want to put together a kitchen herb garden on my deck and perhaps I’ll try my hand at something different in my flower beds if I don’t fail completely.
