Winter has been kicking our butts here...

but maybe that means we will have a nice growing season! I know it isn’t good for morning commutes, but we have had 2 days of misty rain here. Our ground is all squishy like a marsh, with bits of frozen, ice covered snow here and there. Things that are still showing green despite sub zero...

More harvests from today. My unusual batch of pumpkins.

All from the same seed I collected from my sugar baby pumpkin seeds 2 years ago, I have at the very least 3 different varities, maybe 4.

    Harvesting, Due to Cold Snap

Potato, Yukon Gold Harvesting, Tomato, Mortgage Lifter Harvesting, and Pleated Tomato Harvesting
I covered most of the plants that matter, but harvested the ones that were starting to ripen or close to being ripe in order to reduce casualties just in case. The melons in the foreground of the Constoluto Genevese are Green fleshed Honeydew. I did not get those logged when I planted them.

    The Wind Whistles

Fall is upon us. The beautiful color of the changing of the seasons. All shades of Gold, Brown, Red and Orange surround us, with the occasional green still showing, and the evergreens of course, stay with us through the icy, cold breathe of winters grip. The wind whistles through the leaves, m...

    Drought Distressed Snowball Bush.

About 12-15’ tall, and about 10’ wide, this snowball bush only has green and somewhat green leaves left on the ends of the branches. I have been giving it a full days watering with a soaker hose 3 to 4 times a week now for a few weeks. Is there anything else that I can do to help it...

Beauty in the midst of awful drought.

Mums, Pom Pom varieties, 2 colors x 4
There are two main flower beds in my front yard. A third still needs much work. But the two that are sort of center pieces I have been flooding, along with my veggie garden, several times a week. Every day at the hottest portion of the summer. The flowers are from my front beds. I also have ...

Things that are blooming, or have bloomed, (non specific varieties)

There are other things, but I need to load them on Picasa, and I have not done so yet. Looking forward to sharing my Irises! :) Oh, if you can tell me what the first one is, I would be a very happy lady!

Have you hugged your puppy today?

My husband called me on the way to work this morning to tell me that today, he had discovered is National Puppy Day. I didn’t know there was such a thing! Here is the article that I found on it. http://www.ecorazzi.com/2012/03/23/march-23rd-is-national-puppy-day/ In honor of puppy day, le...
