Forgot to take gardening gloves, narrowly missed getting a big blister. Everything looking OK. Earthed up potatoes. Did heel cuttings for chrysanths. The fly trap caught a fly. Planted out the crysanth cuttings from bunch of flowers (white with pink tinge) on allotment. Need to sort out cuttings from heels of last year’s chrysanths. Potted on the boys pumpkins.

21 Apr 2009A lot more on the 'lotty... 2Sweetpeas planted up, two double rows of broad bean seeds in, row of nasturtium seeds (whisky and Ice). Tansy, Onions (Setton) and potatoes (Kestrel) are in and away already. Still loads of digging and clearing to do…. Garden has gone up a gear and stuff is springing up all over the place…more pictures…have seen lots of bumble bees but this week the honey bees are starting to get out and about. Early daffs are now over, peony has leaves emerging. Fig has lots of little figs, I usually loose them all...

18 ‘Kestrel’ potatoes in plus three rows of onion sets ‘setton’. A row of tansy sown. More digging than I care to think about still required on the allotment, not to mention clearing…
