Now have a very nice new shiny little camera to play with. hurray! On the allotment everything looks Ok, even the dreadfully blackfly covered broad beans seem to be broadbeaning. We counted at least four different types of ladybird and over thirty of them on the plants!

22 Jun 2009First courgettes harvested from allotment! sweet peas Budding and 'Lisa Marie' sweet pea BuddingJust picked the first courgettes from the ’lotty, v. exciting! Despite the black fly, the broad beans are looking promising. Sweet peas about to flower. Planted sweetcorn seed v. late, over weekend. 15 Jun 2009Wow, it really is all growing... 4 1Not only are the weeds doing well on the allotment, but the french beans, courgettes, pumpkins, sweet peas, onions, nasturtiums and crhysanths are all looking goood! (There’s some dire black fly on the broad beans – so much for companion planting!) Thinned out the cabbages and brocol...Sunny 21°C / 70°F

Rain has put paid to any sensible gardening over the last few days – also my camera has decided now is a good time to break! Tonight is last of this year’s Springwatch on telly which I have really enjoyed this year. Did mange to get a few photos from the garden this week.

02 Jun 2009long time since last journal entry... on the allotment and in the garden... 4 3 cornflower and Love In A Mist 'Self Sown'Overcast 15°C / 59°F
Purple sprouting brocoli, kale, cabbages all sprouting on allotment, not too mention a variety of weeds! Tansy did not germinate. Potatoes about to flower. Boys pumpkin plants all have tiny baby pumpkins on, very sweet.

Horrible head cold has meant last week was a bit of a waste..did get to the allotment finally on Friday, planted up french beans, courgettes and remaining pumpkins. Did some weeding. Broad beans and nasturtiums were looking good. Need to weed central bed again so that I can seed some summer salad...
