I am a 7th generation herbalist and gardener. Due to a recent motor vehicle accident I now am having to make a switch to container gardening. I have been gathering 35 & 55 gallon drums and cutting them in half, modifying the bottoms to let them drain as my planters. In between the garden containers I have been planting red clover, calendula, borage, and comfrey. Or I should say it self seeded.
The last several years we have had extra tall peas and an explosion of borage blossoms with plants being over 6 foot tall. This last year most of our Salvia microphylla ‘Hot Lips’ plants wintered over. I actually had to cut back my horehound back.
We are in the process of created a fairy garden and “Alice in wonderland garden”. We are missing tigerlily and petunas.
I am hoping to finish creating a edible “forest” with perennials and heirloom plants. I also want to finish my healing herb garden.
