Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom with a three year old and another one on the way!

I grew up in southeast Alaska (northern rainforest), went to college in central Alaska (semi-arid and -40 or more in the winter), moved to Massachusetts (humid and hot in the summers. Zone 5 – almost zone 6), and now have ended up across the river from Portland, Oregon (Rainy all winter, sunny all summer – zone 8). Except for the move to Fairbanks, I’ve been trending towards warmer climates. Which is odd – I don’t like heat and burn to a crisp in the sun. Consider me a part-shade, northern water plant. :)

We moved into our current home just before my son was born so I’m just now starting to work on the yard – therefore I still miss my (established) Massachusetts gardens. I’m hoping to enjoy creating some equally beautiful gardens here.
