I started my raised bed area at the side of our house in the back garden in 2009 after my 7 year old want to plant some vegetables following a project at school. We started with one raised bed and successfully grew carrots, lettuce and spring onions in the first year.
Since then the 7 year old has lost interest, but I have continued and expanded the growing area. The area now includes 2 raised beds, for growing vegetables, a small hexagonal greenhouse (added at the end of 2010) and several growing bags.
What started as a project for my son has now taken over and become an obsession for me and a way to relax away from the stress of work and 3 children :)
My other main interest, other than my boys is photography and love going out and taking shots of flowers and plants at different locations and a gallery of my work can be seen here and on Flickr.
