    Unknown Insect

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Things have gotten crazy for us here and I just haven’t had time to keep up on My Folia. I miss reading everyone’s journals and watching the progress of your gardens – hope to be back at it soon. This little “bug” was fly...

    Blooms around the garden

Peruvian Daffodil Blooming, Trumpet Vine Standard Blooming, and Hosta Minis Blooming
The peruvian daffodil is starting to bloom – the hubby’s favorite :). So far it seems we may get only one bloom from the 4 plants this year – but we will have to wait and see. The trumpet vine trained as a standard – is just starting to bloom and will soon be covered with...

More blooms on this hot, hot day

We are reaching into the 40’s with the humidex here in Sarnia – and for us – that’s HOT…but the tomatoes are loving it! I haven’t grown tomatoes before – other than the odd cherry variety – and I’m starting to worry. Some plants have one or ...

First day of almost full bloom and we have visitors already

    Butterfly Bush Nanho Purple Blooming
I’ve been watching this butterfly bush bloom open slowly over the last few days and today thought I would get a pic – and there, flitting around the bloom-was this little black and orange butterfly. Not a monarch – but I have no clue what it is….but WELCOME LITTLE BUTTERF...

    Wow My Bathroom Smells Nice!!

    Madagascar Jasmine Blooming
Lol….ok – a bit of an odd title for this journal entry – but it’s true!! The window in our bathroom gets the most direct sunlight in the house – so when we did the renovations and put a new window in – I had the hubby build a shelf into the windowsill and ta-...

The visit with my sister was nice – but as always – too short. We did a garden tour together and it was nice to just puddle along, pointing out this and that, talking about what’s blooming, what needs to change or is too big for it’s placement in the garden. sigh I miss ...

Daylily From Seed of Red Volunteer x Unknown has shown it's "face"

Daylily Seed Cross Red Volunteer x Unknown Blooming and Daylily garden
This is a plant that I grew from seed back in 2008 – and this is it’s first bloom. It’s no wonder it takes sometimes “years” to perfect a cross of lilies to make a new variety that is worth purchasing. This one is a little bit of a mutant in my opinion….but t...
