Hi,
Im a mother of an elementary age boy. I work as a secretary. I love being a Mom and also love homesteading.
Nature is so vital for me. This past year I made time to clear a patch of land for a vegetable patch. I got plants: cucumbers, corn, tomatoes, rosemary, oregano, broccoli and parsley.
I also got seeds: carrots.
The ones that were transplanted as existing plants made it nicely. The seeds – not so much.
I also found that oregano and rosemary make it through the winter, even with our cold NY winters.
During the winter months when things are slow, I try to do composting. If I have food scraps from my kitchen, I dig in the patch and place it there. I put a couple of bricks over it because the squirrels like to dig them.
Since I love making coffee alternatives, such as Dandelion root coffee and Collinsonia flower coffee, im curious to see those plant sbloom soon.
I love this site and I was heartwarmed to read from a lady who helped me with a question I had and looking forward to continuing visiting here.
