Clear 12°C / 54°FI imagine that peacocks are a bit like cats, they choose with whom they make their home. I have no idea where Mr and Mrs Peacock really live……but I’m very pleased they are trying out our garden! The peacocks have been encouraged to stay with large helpings of chicken pellets, ...

The second use for bubble wrap...
Asparagus seeds:Connover's Colossal Hardening Off and Extra Terrestrial gardenLight Rain 11°C / 52°FI discovered the Mice were getting in under the rim of my cold frame, and they had stashed their seed lunch under my pots. Cleaned it out, stuffed the gap with bubble wrap, and set out my seedlings. However, one nibble on the asparagus babies and I will fill it full of cats.

Don't laugh....but three years and 36 crowns later.......
Asparagus seeds:Connover's Colossal Showing True Leaves and The Smallholding gardenMist 10°C / 50°F…this is my asparagus harvest. I have made some celebratory Hollandaise sauce but it will be gone in a gulp! I’m going to try again with stock I’m growing from seed….but it may take a few more years….

Clear 16°C / 61°FI emptied this pot, thinking that it had failed to germinate, tipped it on the Smallholding and found some seedlings inside! Quickly repotted them, three and one ready to burst seed.

Repaired the plastic greenhouse
Extra Terrestrial gardenThe plastic had degraded in the sunshine(!?) and it was a bit chilly in it’s string vest
