20 May 2008Sown Chamomile Sown and Gonsbachtal Fruit & Veggie gardenDirect sewed a couple small pinches of seeds onto very wet soil around the broccoli to be it’s companion. It also is acting as a ‘firewall’ between my beans and onions, to help make both plants happy.Cloudy 18°C / 64°F

I planted out this guy in the garden today. We’re supposed to have a couple more days of generally cool weather, slowly warming up each day. I think it sounds good to give them a cloudy day to recover from the shock before the sun comes out.

Planted out the three strongest plants today. I used little ‘plant hats’ to protect them from slugs and snails, as well as the fox that might step on them (he has already killed a strawberry and a radish by doing just that!).

My greenhouse enclosures now total 4 with ventilation & 4 without. The ones with ventilation, made of thick acrylic, are much higher quality (though sold at the same price in stores) and they provide ventilation, enabling you to place them in the sun without cooking the plants. This works g...
