The dahlia was one that I moved, and when I did it got sort of bushy. Then I took drastic measures and cut it back. Learned my lesson…leave the plants alone! 02 Jan 2009Putting this garden to bed for the winter Fruit and Vegetable gardenIt’s winter here in Chicago, so the vegetables have all been harvested. I thought I would take a brief minute to sum up. The tomatoes did ok, the zucchini was so-so, and the rhubarb was fabulous. The lettuce did well until I let it go to seed (I’ll try again next year). I’m ...Cloudy -2°C / 29°F

I finally planted the hostas in the ground! Let’s see if the few weeks we have of fall will be enough for them to take root. I would love it if they would grow back after the winter!
