How to keep the bunnies away? 3
What are you tips for keeping the bunnies away? I used mothballs last year, but beside the fact that they really stink, I’m doing my best to be organic this summer. I have heard that they don’t like Marigolds that much. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

And God said "don't trim that bush!" Very Happy Peony
I like having a day off of work. I was pretty busy today with all sorts of gardening goodness. I bought a Shepard’s Hook and hanging basket of Atomic Blue Petunia’s today. After I put the hook in the ground, I determined that the hanging pot was too heavy…it was bending the h...

Fertilized the roses 1 Very Happy Climbing Pinata Roses Fertilising
I purchased some organic Rose fertilizer the other day (don’t have the name handy). I might try to create this recipe for fertilizer sometime. I first watered the roses, and then spread a little bit of the fertilzer around each bush. I mixed the fertilizer into the soil a little as the ...

Easter Lillies 2 Easter Lillies and Perennial garden
So far, the lillies are surviving. I wouldn’t say thriving. I wanted to give them a little chance to get some root growth before I put them in the ground. That, and I didn’t know where I wanted to plant them. Perhaps near the Day Lillies on the side of the house? That would make se...

Strawberries - fertilizing? 6 Strawberries Flowering
My strawberries have little flowers on them now. Let’s see if some fruit comes soon! I’m wondering, should I fertilize them somehow? I didn’t do this last year. In fact I didn’t really fertilize much at all. I’m a little afraid to do it I guess. Does anyone have su...

Peonies on parade 1 2 Peony
I think this is the year for the peony bushes. I can’t believe how fast these suckers grow! It seems like I just turn around, and they have shot up 6 inches! Take a look. I think they will bloom this year…won’t that be nice?

    Rose progress 1 2
The roses are still alive. Not having planted roses before, I’m quite pleased about that! Here are a few pictures of what they look like right now. I purchased some fertilizer yesterday, so I’ll fertilize them soon.

    Garden planning software recommendations 2
I love Folia for keeping track of my plants that I have put in the ground. I have more areas that I would like to add flowers to, so I’m looking for some good computer software to help me plan, so I don’t spend way too much at the nursery! :) Does anyone have a favorite software you...

Daffodils are done for the year Daffodils Dying Down
The daffodils have bloomed their last bloom of the season. Yesterday, I added some mulch to the daffodil bed. The flowers have bloomed for the year, but I’m pleased with the look of the bed. Last year was the first year they bloomed, and they were a bit scraggly. This year, they were r...
