    Early Morning Cuthbert 3
Cuthbert, our koala in residence, woke me up this morning grunting his head off. If you’d never heard a koala before, hearing the grunts for the first time you’d think the neighbours were keeping pigs. Again after breakfast I heard him so I went out and located him. He was sitting i...

    Taming the Sour Sob 1
With water comes growth. Anna and I both got into the garden yesterday and removed some of the little blighters. Sour Sob (Oxalis Pes-caprae) is more common than grass, its taken over the grass and most of the rest of the garden. Here and there a few other things have popped up, plenty of popp...

A new beginning Medicinal Herb garden
I’ve not made an entry for a while as the garden has been in a sad way. A bit of rain has started to fall and all sorts of things have begun popping up as the garden slowly comes back to life. And we’ve bought another big rain water tank to catch what does fall. The Murray is still ...

Harvest time Sunflower 'Eclipse' Harvesting and Medicinal Herb garden
A few of the heads were ‘ripe’ enough to be removed so I chopped four of the most developed. I’ve put these in a brown paper bag to dry out a bit more. So I’ll be eating some, planting some, giving some back to Andrew, and some on to a local Folian: Harvester.

    Heat wave Medicinal Herb garden
The garden has suffered greatly already this summer. The recent heat wave has killed off a considerable amount of life. Even with buckets of water constantly ferried out (I have it down to a fine art now) every day and with the Horizontal Shade Blind constantly rolled out I am still unable to s...

Top Heavy Sunflower 'Eclipse' and Medicinal Herb garden
The big fella is has so many flowers that it is struggling to stay upright. I’ve tied it up best I can but don’t want to drive another stake in as it will damage the root system. Some of these flowers should be ready to pick soon.
