I have grown up surrounded by plants, and it is only in the last 6 months that my wife and I have been able to secure our own garden and now my fun really begins!
My father was a botanist, and my mother has always taken great care and pride in her gardens (of which we have had many) so I feel it is very natural for me to take up the torch and start growing. It seems I have always been gardening; from a very early age looking after our neighbours vegie patch during holidays, to some of my first jobs at wholesale and retail nurseries. I was deterred from a career in horticulture by the low wages (relative to almost everything else!) but I find it a life affirming hobby and love to maintain my connection with our earth by getting dirt under my fingernails :)
