I have had small gardens with some success for many years in AZ & here in WA. I am now located on 7.5 acres that the previous farmers have covered in gravel. It has been quite a disappointment to have so many weeds as the gravel has been resurfacing, where grass grew when we moved in almost 4 yrs ago. I’m a naturalist as much as possible, love to grow herbs & other foods. Constantly seeking organic ways to be self sufficient. Four acres are in alfalfa for our horses. I have several container plants & feel I am still learning everything. I also grow roses, other flowers & we have lots of trees and keep adding, which means we have LOTS of birds of all kinds. It is a lovely place needing more planned growth & less free sprouted aggressive weeds, thistles & puncture weeds.
