I have been gardening for about 20 years and love to spend as much time as possible in the garden. My other hobby is photography, so a spend a lot of time wandering the garden looking for flowers and bugs to take pictures of which means that it now takes me twice as long to do any gardening.
I have several garden beds but most of them are cottage style with a mix of native and exotics. One of the gardens has a large planting of natives so that we can entice more birds, insects and animals into the garden.
We also have a veggie patch and a range of fruit trees and try to be as enviromentally friendly as possible. I do not use pesticides in the garden and we have a rainwater tanks and a series of barrels to catch rainwater for the garden. Greywater from the washing machine is also used on the flower beds.
