I’m a computer programmer in Everett, WA specializing in automation tools for Typographic development. Programmer by day, newbie gardener by.. weekend.

My first garden was a small herb garden in a long planter at my parent’s house which I started in my early teens (and which is still mostly alive and flourishing, garden with photos below). After moving out I was in an apartment for many years, but finally my husband and I bought our first house this past October ‘09 just a few blocks from Puget Sound. It’s got lovely, natural looking landscaping that I’m very much enjoying finding out what’s blooming next, and what color everything is.

One of the things I really wanted when we got a house was the space to plant a vegetable garden. For now, I decided to set up my veggie garden on my deck in containers, and if it goes well I may add some raised beds to the yard.

I’ve listed my “years gardening” at zero because this is the first garden that’s mine. I’m excited to finally be able to have my own garden with things I grow for, not just myself, but my husband, family, and friends!
